Walden’s own governing documents, the CC&Rs and Board Policies referenced on the community association’s website, are where cart-specific rules such as permits, minimum driver age, or street speed limits would be set, separately from Texas Transportation Code Chapter 551. We were not able to find those specific cart rules published in readable form online, so this page does not summarize them. What Walden carts need

Marina exposure on top of heat. A cart based near the 536-slip marina spends real time close to the water, where humidity and splash reach terminals, charge ports, and connectors more than they would in a garage further inland. Combined with Houston-area NOAA normals of roughly 105.2 days a year at 90°F or above, that is a harder environment for a battery pack and its wiring than a straight golf-course cart sees. Storm exposure for lake-adjacent carts. Hurricane Harvey in August 2017 pushed Lake Conroe to a record pool elevation with a release above 70,000 cubic feet per second, and heavy rain events remain a real seasonal risk on this reservoir. A cart stored low, close to the water, should be moved to higher ground and fully charged ahead of forecast severe weather, and a cart that took water needs a full inspection before its pack is charged again.

Getting through the gate

Walden’s gatehouse is the point of contact for any scheduled visit, and we coordinate timing so it expects the truck rather than turning it away. Once inside, the peninsula’s layout means a golf-side address and a marina-side address can be a genuine drive apart, so tell us your section or street name when you book. A cart that splits its time between both, running to the course some days and the dock on others, is common here and gets checked for both wear patterns on the same visit rather than just the one you called about.
